PROJECT DETAILS

This was a job that came down to time and money – and if you think about it – aren’t all jobs really, at their core, about that? Of course you want the best crew in the business and the best customer centric company to work with on a project like this but it really comes down to time and money for that expertise.

So when GGA Construction calculated it would be faster to use scaffold rather than high reaches to complete the exterior of this large job at the Hyatt Place Wilmington / Riverfront, they called Wilmington’s scaffold leader, Pinnacle Scaffold, to do the work. They realized that with scaffolding they could rock multiple trades simultaneously to do the work quickly and efficiently as opposed to one trade at a time with high reaches.

Pinnacle Scaffold came in with system scaffold that was roughly 300’ long by 60’ high, decked in at every level to allow total access. And once this side of the building was finished they dismantled and moved the scaffolding to the opposite side.

Pinnacle also designed a way to tie into the windows using compression ties instead of the traditional method of tying directly into the exterior of the building. This allowed the entire side of the façade to be open and accessible for the different crews to work uninhibited to get the job done as quickly as possible.
